Casper Jaspers (1987) represents companies, private equity and venture capital investors, and financial institutions in mergers and acquisitions, with a focus on the technology sector. He also advises on general corporate and technology related matters such as corporate governance and artificial intelligence regulation. Casper acted for various listed and non-listed companies including: Enexis, a national grid operator, in connection with the sale of Fudura, a metering company. LeasePlan, an automobile leasing and fleet management company, in connection with the carve-out of its CarNext.com, an online auction platform for vehicles. EQT, a private equity fund, on its majority investment in Dunlop Protective Footwear, a leading manufacturer of protective footwear. Gebr. Heinemann, a major operator of duty-free and travel value shops, on its joint venture with Schiphol Airport Retail, also an operator of duty-free shops. In addition, Casper gained valuable inhouse experienced at ABN AMRO and LeasePlan.
In 2021, Casper’s book Technology & Governance: making technology work for society (Prometheus, 2021) was published. It contains a practical, non-technical, broad insight into key technologies shaping business and society. In the publication, Casper sets out why Technology (T) is a crucial part of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and that we should move from ESG to ESGT. He is a lecturer on law & technology, the digital services act and artificial intelligence act at the Centre for Professional Legal Education (CPO) which is part of the Radboud University Nijmegen. In 2017, Casper co-authored a leading book on Dutch corporate governance (The Chairman’s manual (Handboek Voorzitter), Mediawerf, 2017) and he is a guest lecturer at Nyenrode Business University on that topic.
He is regularly invited as a keynote speaker on technology, governance & law, known for his engaging and convivial presentation style. Casper takes complex technical ideas and distils them into user-friendly concepts for his audience.
